Boho-Filipiniana – A Styled Intimate Wedding Photoshoot

This is a collaboration of Syracuse Entrepreneurs. An intimate styled photoshoot showcasing Filipiniana and Barong from KimonaPinoy. www.kimonapinoy.com.

Filipiniana is a traditional clothing worn by women in the Philippines usually made of piña (pineapple) fibers. Filipiniana usually have it’s signature butterfly or Imelda sleeves. The former first lady Imelda Marcos usually wear the terno in most important events in the country or when visiting internationally to showcase filipino culture.

Filipiniana have evolved into different designs and now popular with modern touches. A combination of other fabrics like “hablon”, inaul, or other handwoven fabrics all over the country made into coutures, gowns or even casual wear.

Barong is the counterpart of filipiniana for men. It is also made of piña fibers combined with cocoon, silk or other fabrics. Barongs have beautiful embroidery handmade from Lumban, Laguna.
